It’s not my birthday. Not any more

Kim Spinder - Monday 19 July 2010 - 22:17 - 480 x read
Seth Godin gives me a lot of inspiration. Today he inspired me to give away my birthday. So...It’s not my birthday. Not any more. And I can't tell you how relieved I am to be done with my birthday, for ever.

Missed Seth’s blog?
“Some of you may have discovered that today is supposed to be my birthday. No longer. I've never really liked birthday hoopla, especially mine, so I've given my birthday to Scott and the folks at Charity:water.” .............Maybe charity day will catch on, with lots of people giving away their birthdays, replacing noise makers and pointy hats. Happy charity day.And thanks.”

I believe in using our professional skills for doing good. We can make a difference without money. As many people know, I’m really passionate about government 2.0 & innovation. If we start using all the available expertise, ideas and creative talent, within and outside our governmental organizations, we can accomplish the fundamental changes our society needs. So instead of sending birthday tweets or facebook congrats please just give a few seconds of your spare time, knowledge and talent for the Open Innovation Festival Worldwide (November 29 - December 3, 2010)

Governmental organizations have often grown through sharing best practices. There are many successful programs that really made a difference. The Open Innovation Festival wants to be the voice and share these stories with the world.

Reply to this blog post and share a story, best practice, inspiring video, picture, blog, quote. Or just say hi to those willing to make a contribution to our society by organizing the Open Innovation Festival. Send your best wishes to them, not me.
